The CX-9 is Mazda's 7 passenger crossover and although it seats 7 passengers, it's no slouch. A 3.7L DOHC V6 that produces 273hp is standard in the CX-9 and even loaded up with people and gear, the CX-9 has no problem merging into traffic or passing when necessary. Even as big as this is it still has to drive like a Mazda. The CX-9 accomplishes this by having stiffer springs, larger diameter roll bars and independent suspension on all 4 wheels and as a result, the CX-9 handles a lot better and feels a lot safer on a windy road than most of the other vehicles it competes against. What we're having a look at today is the GT model which offers a lot of nice options on top of the already well equipped GS model. In either trim you'll find the CX9 has an elegant yet athletic exterior and a well appointed, intuitive interior put together with high end materials. The CX 9 GT with Navigation comes with 20" alloy wheels, all-wheel drive and features a power lift gate, making access to the cavernous interior a breeze. With the seats down like this you have 2851 litres of storage space - plenty of room for moutain bikes, lumber or whatever you just bought from Costco - and in a matter of seconds it converts back to being a people hauler.
